Oh, you such a funny guy!
But that doesn't mean that I get things easy for myself.
There are times when I get to thinking that my life sucks - almost as much as yours does.
I'm twice divorced. I fight high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and borderline diabetes. Family history puts me at increased risk for prostate cancer and heart disease. My job takes a lot of hours from me and gives me a lot of stress. I don't get to see my beloved daughter nearly enough.
And then, I snap out of it and realize that I am blessed.
I shared portions of my life with two good women; it didn't work out, but we had some good times and if I knew how it would end, I would still have married them. My health issues are under control with some medication and healthy choices. Knowing my family history puts me on the alert, and makes it likely that I will detect serious health issues before they get really bad. My job also gives me a great intellectual challenge, wonderful coworkers, and a paycheck that puts a roof over my head and kibble in the cats' food bowls. And when I get to see my daughter, she fills my heart with joy.
So, despite the problems that I might encounter in life, in my more rational moments I deeply appreciate life and the blessings that I have received.
