Western Winter Blast Fireworks Convention

Typhoons and earthquakes just aren't destructive enough. When it comes to pure chaos and destruction, fire is king and explosions are queen. Heck - a good volcano can provide both!

But all work and no play make Dennis a dull boy. So he has to relax a bit with the recreational use of fire.

What Is It?

Western Winter Blast is a fireworks convention held every year in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The convention is held by the Western Pyrotechnic Association (WPA) during the President's Day weekend.

WPA members gather to manufacture, buy, and shoot professional and consumer-grade fireworks. There are technical presentations, workshops, and fireworks every night - colminating in a gid "public show" on Sunday night.

Citizens of Lake Havasu City are welcome to come and watch the fireworks, but are not allowed in to the actual convention.

Dennis has been attending Western Winter Blast, on and off, since 1996. It's always a fun event!
